Trading post brain teaser

Badger and Yote stepped into the local trading post, the familiar scent of oil, wood, and leather greeting them. The shelves were filled with every tool and part imaginable, from rusty nails to polished tractor gears. Badger picked up a part, squinting as he examined it closely.

“Think this’ll do the trick, Yote?” he asked.

Yote, holding a notepad, nodded thoughtfully. “Looks about right,” he replied. Then, with a grin, he added, “While we’re at it, I’ve got a riddle for you.”

Badger chuckled, recognizing the familiar look of challenge in Yote’s eyes. “Alright, lay it on me.”

Yote grinned. “The water level in the reservoir is low but doubles every day and it takes 60 days to fill. How long does it take to be half full?

Badger scratched his chin, thinking it over. “Huh… If it doubles every day, then…”

He paused, and the answer dawned on him.

Yote laughed, patting him on the back. “Think you have the answer, partner?”

🧠 This riddle is a clever reminder of exponential growth. Just as the reservoir fills rapidly, sometimes tasks, projects, or challenges build momentum as they near completion. It’s all about pacing and timing, like the way Badger and Yote tackle each day on the ranch.
