Rancher's riddle

The sun was just beginning to rise over the mountains, casting long shadows across Badger and Yote’s ranch. The crisp morning air smelled of pine and fresh earth, and the birds were already singing as the two friends prepared for the big task ahead. Today was barn-raising day—a tradition that required both strength and skill, and a bit of clever planning.
Badger and Yote stood on the open hillside, surrounded by stacks of lumber, buckets of nails, and tools scattered all around. The ranch had been their home for many years, and now they were finally ready to build a big, sturdy barn to store their equipment and shelter their animals during the cold mountain winters.
Yote, already deep into the blueprints, was squatting on the ground, measuring beams and laying out plans. He wore his favorite overalls, a wide-brimmed hat, and an old, worn pair of boots that had seen plenty of adventure. “You know, Badger,” he said, “a barn isn’t just about walls and a roof. It's got to have heart.”
Badger chuckled as he swung a hammer onto a wooden plank. “You and your riddles, Yote. I bet you’ve got one ready for today, don’t you?”
Yote grinned slyly. “Of course! What's barn-raising without a little brain-teasing?”
Badger nodded, wiping the sweat off his brow with a bandana. The mountains stood tall behind him, their peaks dusted with snow. “All right, let’s hear it. What kind of riddle does a barn call for?”
Yote leaned against a stack of beams, looking up at the half-built frame of the barn as if searching for the right words. Then, with a sparkle in his eye, he began:
“I am tall but grow without rain,
I am strong but bend with strain.
Inside me, you’ll find treasure,
For I’m built for work, not pleasure.
I stand alone or side by side,
In a row or stacked with pride.
What am I?”
What is the riddle describing? It’s something Badger and Yote would use when building their barn, and it plays a key role in their ranch life.
