Orchard oddity

Badger and Yote were enjoying the fresh mountain air as they worked in the orchard, picking apples from the tall trees. The orchard was full of life, and the baskets they carried were starting to overflow with fruit.

Yote, always the thinker, paused and looked at one particularly large apple hanging from a branch. “Badger,” he said, “I’ve got a puzzle for you.”

Badger smiled, already expecting a challenge. “Go on then, let’s hear it.”

Yote pointed to the rows of trees. “Imagine this:”

“You have 15 baskets, and each basket contains 15 apples.
One basket has apples that weigh slightly more than the others.
Using a scale only once, how can you determine which basket has the heavier apples?”

Badger scratched his head, looking at the rows of trees. “That’s a tough one, Yote.”

Can you help Badger and Yote figure out which basket has the heavier apples using the scale only once?
