Leisure lake logic

The soft, golden glow of the setting sun stretched across the rippling waters of the lake, casting long shadows as Badger and Yote made their way to the wooden dock. The crisp autumn air was filled with the gentle rustle of leaves and the distant call of birds preparing to migrate. This was their favorite time of year—when the trees painted the hills in warm hues of red, orange, and yellow, and the air carried the earthy scent of the coming winter.

Badger, carrying an old fishing pole over his shoulder, walked slowly down the creaking dock, savoring the beauty of the evening. Yote, ever full of energy, skipped a few steps ahead, tossing small pebbles into the water and watching as the ripples danced outward toward the middle of the lake. The dock stretched far out into the water, and once they reached the end, they dropped their gear and took a seat, legs dangling off the edge. They didn't come to fish, though—the fishing pole was just an excuse to spend some quiet time by the lake and let their minds wander.

“Peaceful, isn’t it?” Yote said, stretching out and letting his hat slip down over his eyes. “I could sit here all day just listening to the water lap against the dock.”

Badger nodded, leaning back on his paws. “Yeah, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and think. And speaking of thinking... I’ve got a riddle for you.”

Yote tipped his hat up, his ears perking with interest. “A riddle, you say? Out here in all this peace and quiet? Let’s hear it, Badger. Give me something to chew on.”

Badger cleared his throat and spoke slowly, his voice blending with the gentle sound of water lapping against the dock’s posts. “It’s one I’ve been saving for a moment like this.”

“I have a heart that doesn't beat,
And though I dance, I have no feet.
I'm born when wind and water meet,
And when I die, I make no sound.
You can see me, but never hold me.
What am I?”

Can you help Badger and Yote figure out the riddle? Think about things you might see while sitting by a peaceful lake, things that are present and beautiful but fleeting.
